Machine Head themselves and the acoustics of the venue were excellent and the actual live show was quite amazing. The security (giving me a hard time about my gum wrapper and change) and insanely overpriced beer ($15 a pop!) was kind of a bummer but unfortunately this is the case with most venues.
Machine Head have formally announced replacements for longtime members Phil Demmel (guitars) and Dave McClain (drums). Demmel and McClain both left the band last year, with each subsequently rejoining a former band (Vio-lence and Sacred Reich, respectively).

The duo’s successors will be guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka (Decapitated) and drummer Matt Alston (Devilment, Eastern Front).

The additions were announced via a pair of social media posts, each featuring a video of Machine Head mastermind Robb Flynn jamming with the new member. You can check out those out below.
Kiełtyka and Alston will make their debut with Machine Head on the band’s upcoming Burn My Eyes anniversary tour. The trek will feature two sets a night: one in which the mostly-reunited BME line-up performs that classic in its entirety, and in which the band’s new line-up play songs from the rest of Machine Head’s catalogue. You can get tickets for those shows here.
Kiełtyka was accused of raping a female fan, along with his bandmates in Decapitated, in 2017. Those charges were later dropped after the band spent several months in a Washington state jail.
